Fees

I have private medical insurance

Mr Sarela is registered as a recognised specialist with private medical insurance companies:

APRIL UK, Allianz International, AXA PPP (Preferred Provider), Aviva, BUPA (Fee Assured and Verified Specialist), Cigna, Exeter Family Friendly, General & Medical, Helix, Health-On-Line, Medisure, PruHealth, Remedi, Standard Life, Simply Health, Saga, Vitality, WPA and others.

Mr Sarela follows an approved-fee policy. This means that fees will be charged in line with the level of benefit that has been set by your insurance company so that you do not have to pay any costs if the treatment is covered by your policy. We will send an invoice directly to your insurance provider. This applies for both outpatient consultations and operations. But, please note that if you have opted for an excess on your policy or if the treatment is outside the policy limits then you will be responsible for the shortfall. You are advised to get in touch with your insurance provider for authorization before any consultation or treatment.

I do not have private medical insurance

Mr Sarela’s fees are £ 200 for the first outpatient consultation, and £ 150 for a follow-up outpatient consultation.

If you need to have an operation, the hospital will provide you with an all-inclusive cost for the operation. The all-inclusive cost will cover the hospital charges, the anaesthetist’s fees and Mr Sarela’s fees, so you have to make only one lump sum payment, directly to the hospital. Starting costs for common operations are given in the table below. Please note that the amounts stated here are only estimates to guide you. The exact price may vary according to your individual medical conditions, and the hospitals pricing policies. The hospitals will be glad to provide exact prices and the terms and conditions for all-inclusive care.  The hospitals can help with financial arrangements for surgery. You may have the option to take a specialist medical loan and to pay in instalments.

What are the Weight Loss Surgery Prices?

Most private medical insurance policies do not cover bariatric surgery.  The hospitals will provide you with an all-inclusive cost for the operation. The cost price includes follow-up care and support from a dietician. Please read the terms and conditions, which will be provided by the hospital, carefully so that you fully know about what is included and for how long. The costs that are given in the table are estimates only. The hospitals will be glad to provide an exact price, which may vary according to your BMI. Also, the cost will vary if you have had a weight loss operation previously and now are considering another operation (called revisional bariatric surgery). The hospitals can help with financial arrangements for surgery. You may have the option to take a specialist medical loan and to pay in instalments.
